Five JSON-LD patterns that pull weight in AI search

Organisation, FAQ, Product, Article, Breadcrumb – done right.

GEO-friendly team3 min read

If you only ship five JSON-LD patterns, ship these. Together they cover the vast majority of citable surfaces on a typical business website.

The five that earn their keep

  1. Organization – anchors your brand as an entity (name, url, logo, sameAs, contactPoint).
  2. FAQPage – Q&A AI engines extract almost verbatim.
  3. Product or Service – price, availability, brand, ratings, areaServed.
  4. Article or BlogPosting – headline, datePublished, dateModified, author with Person schema.
  5. BreadcrumbList – cheap, gives engines explicit hierarchy.

One rule above all

Wrong schema is worse than no schema. Stale prices, fictional availability, or a byline pointing to a non-existent person actively trains models to distrust your domain.

The full breakdown – annotated examples for each pattern, common mistakes, validation workflow, and a copy-paste JSON-LD library – lives inside Module 04 of the GEO course.
